My reporter came into the office late in the week with a couple photos taken at a year end/awards presentation of the local arts council. She had sent me the story the day before and based on the presentations I was hoping to use one photo in particular from that event on the front page. As it turns out, the photo was, well, not very complementary to the person in it so I ruled it out instantly. Luckily there was a second shot of the one presentation that got used elsewhere in this issue. I chose this photo from the same event for Page 1 and left it at that.
