I had known for weeks about a bake sale being held at a local church and had hoped for a good photo from that event for the front page. I started taking casual shots at the event and when a young mother showed up with her son I started following them around hoping for something coming from the young boy. He did not disappoint as he latched on to the goodies on display. The shot used on front was chosen mostly because of his expression. Another shot of him eating a chocolate-covered cupcake made it inside the paper as well as a shot of his mother handing him a treat. All good photos telling a much bigger story than the event!
