A senior girls basketball championship was the scene of where I thought my front page photo would come from, so I went to the gym early to get a good spot for photos. I ended up getting access to the loft overlooking the courts below which turned out to be a great vantage point. I snapped about 30 shots and the one that got on front was cropped only slightly to move the basketball closer to the centre of the frame. I liked the action shot even more when I realized that the girl holding the basketball has had her nails done!
