I knew there was a celebration for a retiring local doctor that was going to take place early in the week. Luckily the event went on for part of the afternoon of our 'paper day' and we were back in town before the event ended. I sent my wife over to the venue on her way home that day with my camera and instructions to try to get a casual shot of the doctor and his wife. Unknown to us, Brenda arrived on scene just moments before a series of presentations. She stayed long enough to snap some shots and I liked this one the best and used it on the front page.
