I have purposely tried not to run very many hockey photos on the front page this season. Partly due to the fact that it's too easy to fall back on and I don't want it to look like we are playing favourites with the local team, and partly because this particular hockey season I just haven't taken many photos at games. I had sent in a request for answers to some pre-selected questions from the local team's head coach weeks ago and had finally given up on receiving a response when a buddy (and semi-regular photo contributor) came into my office with photos he took of the team at a recent game in Spokane. The photo described the stumbling, sometimes struggling, season the team has had better than words so I had to use it on the front page but chose to attach it to a neutral and very generic story about the possibility of still making playoffs.
