This week's front page photo was one I did not expect as I was not aware of the retirement noted in the story below the photo. My part-time reporter covered the school board meeting where the two announcements were made and must have scheduled the photo-op thinking it would be a great photo to run along with the articles. It was a good plan and a big enough news item for me to load up on the first page of this issue.
