The first snowfall of the season ended up being a heavy dump of wet snow that measured 13-inches in our yard and much more in other nearby areas. The weight of the snow destroyed trees that came down on power lines knocking out utilities in the entire southern half of the province. With the power out at home and a vehicle stuck in our yard, I walked to our downtown office and had my wife's camera with me. I was not prepared for some of the sights I found and didn't even see the worst of it! I snapped photos along one main street as I went and knew as soon as I took this one that it was going on the front page so I used a different version of it online.
