The local group that organizes the annual Christmas Hamper Drive launched their program recently. The Legion in our community always kick starts the campaign with a large cheque (in amount, as well...lol) and I received a call mid-week for a photo-op of the cheque presentation. It was also the same issue where a lot of Santa arrival photos were going to appear, but I chose to use a photo from the hamper drive fundraising on the front page instead. I did this thinking it had a larger impact and could inspire others in the community to make a contribution.
