Front Page - August 05, 2014
This week's front page photo was an unexpected bonus. As we are trying to focus on 'shopping local' in our paper and have started a campaign to run throughout August, I knew I needed some more photos of locals doing business to launch the series. I had planned on taking a number of shots at the local farmer's market that my wife Brenda attends selling her homemade jam and asked her if she'd mind snapping some photos for me. She always sees things differently that I do so there's usually a hidden gem in a set of photos Brenda takes for me. This was no exception. When I downloaded the photos and saw the tie dye clothing shot I knew I couldn't waste it by printing it in black and white. The angle of the shot also really caught my eye. I did crop it a bit to tighten up the foreground but other than that I did nothing else to the photo.
