I've been very lucky over the years that readers and customers feel free to submit photos for my newspaper. The owner of a local business that was broken into the previous week sent some photos of the damage. The shot of the broken safety glass in the front door stood out for me and once I gave it a very slight crop, it spoke volumes to me. There was no other choice before or after this photo arrived that was even remotely considered strong enough to bump this one off the front page.
